Duncan Yo-Yo is celebrating their 80th anniversary with a world tour, and can you guess where they’re stopping? Terra Toys!
Come to Terra Toys on October 28th, 4-6pm, to watch an amazing demonstration. Three super-cool, award-winning Duncan dudes will perform stunts, teach tricks, and help aspiring yoyoists choose the right gear. Different yo-yos are suited for different tricks and styles, so get some good advice while you’re here. Also, take your pick of special merchandise exclusive to this tour. We will have music, snacks, and tons of fun. This is a free event.

John Maverick, a longtime Austin favorite, has put together a magic kit of his own design. This October, he will visit the store to demonstrate the tricks in his kit, and teach a few of them. Aspiring magicians are invited to take a lesson from the Master of Magic himself. The kit will be available for purchase in the store. This is a free event!

Paint Your Own Train At Terra Toys!

For the past two years, our Paint Your Own Train event has been a big success. Terra Toys provides a blank wooden train and lots of supplies so you can create the train of your dreams! The boxcars and tankers come from the same company that makes Thomas Tank Engines. You can copy Thomas and his friends, or create something entirely original. And because they are standard-sized, they are compatible with Thomas, BRIO, Nuchi, and other wooden railway sets. Kids as young as 3 can do this activity, but we recommend that all children are accompanied by an adult helper.
Tax Free Weekend, August 21-23, 2009
Monday, July 27th, 2009This year the Texas Legislature expanded the list of items qualifying for exemption from sales taxes during Tax Free Weekend. That means even more stuff is tax-free!
Terra Toys and Dragonsnaps Children’s Clothing sell many of the back-to-school items which are tax free. And although lots of places sell clothes and school supplies, you may agree that ours often rank higher in terms of uniqueness and beauty. Think of us when you go tax-free shopping this year!

Kids ages 2 to 7 will enjoy this endearing book about a little llama who can’t go to sleep without the reassurance of his llama mama. Terra Toys’ Annual Fairy Tea Party 2009

On Tuesday, June 16, 2009, Terra Toys will host the annual Fairy Tea Party. Join us for an afternoon of costumes and glitter! Kids learn to make fairies and goblins out of simple materials like pipe cleaners, felt, and flower petals. Materials and instruction are provided, and the process is easy enough that kids as young as 3 can do it with a little help from mom or dad. Tea and cookies will also be served.
