IT’S HARRY POTTER TIME!

Oh wow, do I love Harry Potter.  I’m always stunned when I meet someone who hasn’t read any of the books yet – anyone who can get halfway through the first book will be hooked.  I’ve met lots of kids who started to love reading because of this series.  And the movies just keep getting better!  Can you believe it?  That many sequels and none of them boring? In celebration of the latest movie release, I present you with a few wizarding wonders.

We carry the entire Harry Potter series, as well as the schoolbooks Quidditch Through the Ages and Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them.  The latest book from the Harry Potter-verse is The Tales of Beedle the Bard, the same book read by so many wizarding children in the series.  J.K. Rowling illustrated this one herself (the first seven copies were written out by hand and leather-bound!).  The stories themselves are fairly dry, but Dumbledore’s commentary is thought-provoking and hilarioius. $12.99

Rats, cats, and owls are popular wizard’s familiars.  We have several plush versions of each, including the snowy owl puppet.  He is soft and majestic, and his head is designed to turn round and round and round. $26

For your sweet tooth, we had Honeydukes Sweetshop ship over a few cartons of Fudge Flies. $7.75

Finally, the icing on the magical cake: these wands are made in Austin, hand-lathed, and stunning in beauty and quality.  Each is one of a kind.  The colors, lengths, and weights vary according to the wood that is chosen, and they have various embellishments like colored bands and inlaid jewels to cater to the tastes of the discerning wizard.  Do come in for a visit and hold each of them until you find just the right one.  Remember, the wand chooses you! $40 each
